SeaPoint names Michels to build its 226-acre Savannah terminal

Michels Corporation says it has won the progressive design-build contract for SeaPoint's planned 226-acre private marine terminal on Savannah's eastside. The work covers 3,000 feet of berth along the 47-foot-deep shipping channel inside a larger 755-acre industrial complex on the former Kemira site. Michels targets a 2027 construction start, but neither the owner nor the contractor has announced that site work has begun.

Naming a design-builder moves the private terminal closer to execution while leaving permits, notice to proceed and actual construction as the next proof points.
